Mother Earth calls upon the people living in her region of Los Angeles*, acting together by consensus, without violence against one another, to remove the dams which imprison her rivers and streams here, and to do it now. Her patience with us is ending. These dams include the following: Los Angeles County Dams: Pacoima Dam, Big Tujunga Dam, Devil’s Gate Dam, Eaton Wash Dam, Santa Anita Dam, Sawpit Dam, Cogswell Dam, San Gabriel Dam, Morris Dam, Big Dalton Dam, San Dimas Dam, Puddingstone Diversion, Puddingstone Dam, Live Oak Dam, Thompson Creek Dam, Lopez Dam, San Antonio Dam**, Hansen Dam, Sepulveda Dam, Santa Fe Dam, Whittier Narrows Dam. San Bernardino County Dams: San Antonio Dam**, Bear Valley Dam, Seven Oaks Dam, Prado Dam**. Riverside County Dams: Prado Dam**, Railroad Canyon Dam, Lake Hemet Dam. Orange County Dams: Brea Dam, Fullerton Dam, Carbon Canyon Dam, Santiago Dam, Villa Park Dam. Please work nonviolently with other residents to create the consensus we need in our communities for this step, turning away from fear and aggression against Mother Earth. Most especially, listen to her. She expects much more, but this is a vital beginning towards our own healing and our willful return to harmony in her. For more about this challenge, see Water. ____________________________________ *The Los Angeles region encompasses the watersheds of the Los Angeles, San Gabriel, and the Santa Ana rivers. **The San Antonio Dam sits across Los Angeles and San Bernardino county lines; the Prado Dam sits across San Bernardino and Riverside county lines. Both dams are owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.
